Our solar system had become our new subway. Travel among the planets was now possible, almost as ordinary as the underground subways were earlier in the century. Maybe fifty years now since you traveled the steel lines between cities, only now instead of tracks we used worm holes. Manufactured by human ingenuity they brought the solar system within our backyard but the price on our world would be a great one. Soon colonies would form on hostile lands.
